This is the second year of the Black Queer Advancement Festival and our inaugural event, the Black Queer AF Music Festival, will be bigger than ever on May 6, 2023, back at Stampede Houston. With more acts being announced soon, we have KenTheMan and Kidd Kenn headlining and performances by Keke Wyatt and Sevndeep, it will be an amazing show you don’t want to miss. Some of the hosts include Greg Mathis, Jr. and Elliot Cooper from Mathis Family Matters. Get your tickets now! 25% off using code ‘Sale’.
And we are expanding in other ways, too. On Wednesday, May 3, 2023, we will have Mr. and Miss Black Queer AF Pageant at Hamburger Mary’s Houston. The winners’ prize package includes being booked for the Music Festival later that weekend.
We will also be having an Advancement Forum on May 4th and 5th. The schedule for this event will be finalized and published in February but includes the Black Pride Hall of Fame in the Charles Law Archive with a keynote speech by Greg Mathis, Jr.
Sunday will be a huge day for us, too! We start with Sunday Service at St. Peter United with guest psalmist from Sunday’s Best Season Nine, Tiffany Andrews. She is sure to sing us under the bench! Then, we are headed back to the beach… well, Balmoral Crystal Clear Lagoon in Humble, TX, with a party curated by our good friends, Impulse Group Houston. These two events are free; you can skip the line with VIP for each event or a weekend pass under the Music Festival.

We had dozens of submissions and it was just too hard to decide who to pick internally. So, we are extending it to the community to decide for us. These artists will be on the main stage of the music festival and we have three slots left.

Voting starts on February 1st and closes at 5 PM CT on February 15th.

Want to be a Sponsor for Black Queer AF Week?

Last year, we launched Texas’ first Black Queer Music Festival. This year, we expand that into a movement-building gathering where we are expecting over 2,000 people. You, your brand, entity, and/or organization should be a part of this. And while putting your brand in front of a community that supports, you help us to fundraise for necessary programs such as our community burial fund and transportation assistance.

Check out our Sponsorship Deck and, if you are interested, fill out our Sponsorship Form for The Normal Anomaly Initiative’s largest fundraiser that sustains two of its major and underfunded programs.
